SayDo Privacy Policy
Effective: August 21, 2026 | Developer: Yixiao Wang (individual) | Contact: [email protected]
The one-sentence version
SayDo runs no servers. Core ledger data stays on your computer. Cloud voice, AI upstreams, and push that you enable yourself are called directly from your computer to those third parties, and egress follows your current configuration. Product data travels on your own LAN or an encrypted overlay you configure. The developer cannot access — and does not collect — any of your data.
What we collect
Nothing. The app has no developer-operated backend, no account system, no analytics, and no third-party tracking or advertising SDKs. No user data is uploaded to the developer. AI, optional cloud voice, and optional push that you configure yourself are governed by your agreements with those third parties.
Device capabilities the app uses, and why
| Capability | Purpose | Where the data goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | Scanning the pairing QR code shown by the desktop side | Decoded on-device only; images are never stored |
| Microphone | Hold-to-talk voice input | Audio is passed to the system speech recognizer and is not stored by SayDo; whether recognition is on-device or network-based depends on app or OS settings and the OS vendor's implementation, and network processing is governed by that vendor's privacy terms |
| Speech recognition | Transcribing your speech to text (uses the system speech recognizer) | Transcribed text is sent only to your own paired computer; see the microphone row above for the network-recognition exception |
| Local network | Communicating with the SayDo service on your own computer | Your LAN or an encrypted overlay you configure, authenticated with the pairing token |
Storage and transmission
- All items, conversations, and ledger data live in the SayDo data directory on your computer; the phone acts only as a display and input device for your computer;
- Phone-to-computer communication happens on your LAN or an encrypted overlay you configure, authenticated by a token exchanged via QR pairing; the token is kept in the phone's secure system storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore / the HarmonyOS equivalent);
- Third-party AI, optional cloud voice, and optional push that you enable on the desktop side are called directly by your computer, under your own agreements with those providers; the developer of this app never touches or sees them.
Data deletion
Deleting the app removes all phone-side local data (pairing information and caches). Desktop-side data is managed and deleted by you on your computer.
Children
The app is not designed for children under 14, collects no personal information, and contains no content directed at children.
